Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC-CGL)
is the most popular among all recruitment exams which is conducted every year
by Staff Selection Commission. After the 7th Pay Commission
recommendations are put into place, the salary structure has become all the
more attractive for the aspirants to take a shot at this examination. As we
know that day by day all recruitment exams are conducted ONLINE MODE, So from
this year 2016 SSC-CGL is also decided to conduct through the examination centres across country in “ONLINE
MODE”. There is some rules and regulations of the examination are being changed
by the Staff Selection Commission.
SSC CGL 2016 selection Procedure -Stages
1. Tier-I(Multiple
Choice Objective questions – 200 Marks( 50 marks for each section)
2.Tier-II(Multiple
Choice Objective questions- 600 Marks(Mathematics -200 marks for 100 questions,
Statistics - 200 marks for 100 questions
& English language & Comprehension– 200 marks for
200 questions)
3. Tier-III(English/Hindi
Descriptive Test- 100 marks)
4. Tier-IV(Skill
test/Computer Test/Interview- 100 marks)
Note: There will be negative marking of 0.5 marks for
each wrong answer in Tier-I. There will be also negative marking of 0.25 marks
in Paper-II and 0.50 marks in Paper-I and Paper-III for each wrong answer in
Tier-II.
Exam date for SSC-CGL (Tier-I) 2016 is 27th August, 2016.
How
To Prepare for SSC-CGL EXAM
Quantitative
Aptitude (Mathematics)
The Mathematics section consists of four major areas:-
1) Arithmetic
2) Algebra 3) Geometry 4) Trigonometry
Geometry is the most important among all the areas. You
must give it special focus. Trigonometry must not be avoided at any cost. Focus
on height and distance, Formula based
question as well as trigonometric identities. Data interpretation and analysis
will take more time if you will not prepare, if you already prepared, you will
able to solve all questions in very short time but you have a good understanding
of percentages and ratio and proportion. Within arithmetic, profit and loss,
simple interest and compound interest, time and distance and time and work are
marks picker.
Reasoning
Analogy and classification, non-verbal reasoning,
syllogisms, coding-decoding, blood relations, direction test and series. Within
non-verbal reasoning, mirror image and water image, paper cutting, punching and
folding, figural series completion, embedded figures, finding the missing
number questions, statement-conclusion & statement-assumption questions.
English
Language
One word substitution, idioms and phrases, synonyms and
antonyms, fill in the blanks, sentence errors, reading comprehension, sentence
rearrangement and jumbled –up sentences. Narration and Active/Passive voice.
General
Knowledge:
Science, Politics, History and Geography. For Current
affairs at least back 6 months. You must focus on following:
1) The
firsts in India
2) Common
chemical compounds
3) Indian
constitution
4) Folk
dances of India and traditional festival
5) Indian
freedom
6) National
income and market structure
7) Medieval
and modern Indian history
8) Important
scientific phenomena
